Hall of Fame slugger Dave Winfield played 22 seasons in the Big Leagues after being selected by the San Diego Padres with the 4th overall pick in the 1973 MLB Amateur Draft. He would go on to hit a total of 465 home runs, drive in 1,833 runs and bat a steady .283 while playing for a total of six teams. This lot features a game-used bat from Winfield’s arsenal that he used during the 1980-83 period when he ended an 8-year run in San Diego and began his 9-year tenure with the New York Yankees. During this time-span, Winfield’s launched 102 home runs and drove in 377 runs; he was an All-Star all four years and won three Silver Sluggers and three Gold Gloves.

The Louisville Slugger professional model (W273) mahogany-colored bat (35.5", 33-oz.) is made of ash with a hickory finish. It shows solid game use and contains three separate cracks -- on the handle, near the label and at the barrel end. It sports several ball marks, stitch impressions and cleat marks on the barrel. There is a light coat of pine tar on the handle. Winfield has signed the barrel in shiny silver paint pen. A wonderful piece of lumber swung by a 3,000 Hit Club member in the prime of his HOF career. Includes LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA (GU 6.5). Full LOA from PSA/DNA for autograph as well. MEARS Authentic sticker on barrel (#307139).
