Mike Gminski played 14 seasons in the NBA predominantly with the New Jersey Nets. The 6'11" center averaged 11.7 points and 6.9 rebounds for his professional career. In college, Gminiski was a dominant force for the Duke Blue Devils, earning consensus 1st Team All-America honors as a junior and 2nd Team honors as a senior. He finished his four years at Duke with averages of 19.0 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. His No. 43 has been officially retired and is hung in the rafters at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Offered here is Gminski's game-worn road blue jersey. On the front right tail is a Rawlings size 44 manufacturer's tag with washing instructions an an attached "5 INCH EXTRA LENGTH" flag tag. "DUKE" appears across the chest with his number "43" below. "GMINSKI" and a larger "43" are on the reverse. All numbering and lettering are sewn on the blue knit shirt in the same white tackle twill. Jersey shows excellent wear with stretching, fraying and a few soiling spots. It is believed to be from Gminski's 1976-77 Freshman season based on its smaller size than a previous example we sold. In addition, the red and blue trim/piping around the collar and sleeves and down the sides which were not present on his gamers as an Upperclassman according to photo research.
