College basketball Hall of Famer Cazzie Russell donned this classic Lakers jersey during the 1976-77 season. Russell had been a superstar for the University of Michigan and was voted College Basketball Player of the Year for 1966. After playing for the Knicks and Warriors, Russell joined the Lakers in 1974 where he would be the last player on the team to wear number 32 before Magic Johnson. Russell’s 1976-77 yellow mesh jersey has “LAKERS” across the chest and Russell’s number “32” below in purple and white tackle twill. The neck and arm openings are trimmed in white and purple. A Tiernan label is sewn in the bottom front tail. The back has “RUSSELL” across the shoulders above his “32” in purple and white tackle twill. The jersey shows good game use with scuffing and staining throughout. There is no doubt Russell saw heavy action while wearing this gamer.
