Pete Rose entered 1972 fresh off of his fifth-straight All Star appearance in 1971. He led all of baseball with 198 hits in 1972, good for a .308 average on the year. The centering and surface of the card also grade out a perfect 10, a rarity for this card. Of the 3,274 1972 Topps Rose cards submitted to PSA, just 13, or 0.4%, have been graded Gem Mint 10 by PSA. We sold another one of these examples in our 2022 Fall Premier for over $55,000.
