Pete Rose entered 1972 fresh off of his fifth-straight All Star appearance in 1971. He led all of baseball with 198 hits in 1972, good for a .308 average on the year. The centering and surface of the card also grade out a perfect 10, a rarity for this card. Of the 2,744 1972 Topps Rose cards submitted to PSA, just 13, or 0.47%, have been graded Gem Mint 10 by PSA. The most recent sale for a PSA 10 was in January of this year for $66,000.
