The 1971 Topps Baseball set including 752 cards is widely popular among collectors due to the player selection, wide amount of rookie cards, and difficulty to find mint examples. The black borders surround a players image along with the team name, player name, and position above. The black borders make it notoriously difficult to find high-grade examples. For a set that is anchored by a numerous amount of Hall of Fame names, there are also many notable rookies. Examples include #709 Don Baylor/Tom Paciorek/Dusty Baker, #26 Bert Blyleven, #341 Steve Garvey, #14 Dave Concepcion, #276 George Foster, and #16 Ken Singleton. Other notable examples include #5 Thurman Munson, #630 Roberto Clemente, #600 Willie Mays, #513 Nolan Ryan, #250 Johnny Bench, #20 Reggie Jackson, #100 Pete Rose, #400 Hank Aaron, and #525 Hank Aaron. A majority of the included examples remain in excellent condition for the tough set. Some examples would be good candidates for the grading process and any major authenticator. A great opportunity to add a complete '75 set to a new or existing collection.
