The 1970 issue of Topps, one of the most challenging Pete Rose cards to locate in premium condition, is characterized by its grey boundaries and fragile paper quality. However, this attractive specimen has managed to survive virtually untouched through the Topps manufacturing process and the subsequent years. Its nearly mint condition corners and edges have contributed to its high-grade evaluation of PSA Mint 9, making it a rare find in today's market. No examples are graded higher in the PSA consensus population report, with over 1,200 graded. Rose assumes an portrait position for this unique Sporting News design card.

This lot is a part of the #2 Pete Rose Master Set in the PSA Registry and the most sought-after Pete Rose card collection to ever come to market. Bid on Lot #31 for purchase of the complete #2 Master Set (1963-1979) or lots #32-215 for individual purchase. Each lot will be sold separately unless the final bid amount of Lot #31 exceeds the final bid amount of Lots #32-215.
