Before the famous "Willis Reed Game" of Game 7 of the 1970 NBA Finals, there had to be the game in which Willis Reed was injured. That game was Game 5 of the Finals, the game in which this ticket stub comes from. Reed appeared in just eight minutes of action before going down with the thigh injury. The stub presented here is one of just two examples in the entire PSA consensus population, and carries a lot of history with it.

Other than serving as the beginning of Reed's comeback story, this game was significant because the Knicks emerged with a 107-100 victory to take a 3-2 lead in the series. Historically, the team who wins Game 5 when the series is tied 2-2 goes on to win the series the vast majority of the time, a feat that New York achieved to win the franchise's first title. Walt Frazier paced the Knicks in the game with 21 points and 12 assists.
