After playing his rookie year with Miami, Wil Jones was traded to the Memphis Tams where he would have his best ABA years. This well-used practice jersey was worn by Jones during the 1972-74 period when the team was owned by Charlie O. Finley, as can be seen by the trademark gold and green color scheme also used for Finley’s Oakland A’s teams. The green jersey has “TAMS” on the left chest in gold and the back has Jones’ number “11” also in gold. The colors show some fading from use and frequent laundering and there are loose threads and light staining throughout the body. An “All American Incorporated” label is sewn inside the jersey along with a flag tag that has been rendered indecipherable through washing. Presumably due to heavy use and Finley’s penny-pinching ways, very few of these practice jerseys have survived, making this a prized artifact from the glory years of the ABA.

Includes LOA from Wil Jones.
