In 1968, Topps produced one of its rarest "test" issues, the Topps 3D cards. They were produced in scant numbers and the only known distribution was done in a few Brooklyn area candy stores in close proximity to the Topps company headquarters. Individual cards are extremely rare and only a few complete sets are known. One can only speculate and wonder why the cards were never distributed on the national level, but the high cost of production is most likely the reason. The nature of their composition makes them highly condition sensitive. They are unusually prone to surface cracking and scratches. This complete set is being offered publicly here for the first time and originates from the same source as the newly discovered proof 1972 Candy Lids set that follows.
