Original TYPE 1 photograph (measures 7”x9”) of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. As he appeared with Wyatt Tee Walker at the New Canaan Baptist Church in New York. Taken just two weeks before his assassination. This is one of his last known photographs ever taken. Issued by the United Press and stamped on the back with a full paper caption as well.  Photo was taken on March 24, 1968 and issued on March 25th.  King would perish on April 4, 1968 in Memphis, TN. 

About Wyatt Tee Walker and his role in the Civil Rights movement, “Described by Martin Luther King as “one of the keenest minds of the nonviolent revolution,” Wyatt Tee Walker served as executive director of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) from 1960 to 1964.”
