Offered here is a spectacular Bill Melchionni 1966-67 Philadelphia 76ers game worn road jersey from their NBA championship season. Melchionni was a key reserve guard as a rookie on that special team, averaging 4.6 points in 9.5 minutes per game. In 1969 he moved on to the ABA's New York Nets and became a big-time scorer and playmaker, making three ABA All-Star squads 1971-73 while leading the league in assists twice. He would eventually helping Dr. J and Co. bring home two ABA titles for the Nets ('74 & '76). Upon his retirement after the 1975-76 season, the Nets retired his number.

The vintage dark blue road jersey has "PHILA" and "28" in red with white trim sewn on the front and large "28" in the same red with white trim sewn on the back. Red and white piping around the collar and arms. Wilson size 38 washing instruction tag sewn in front tail. Jersey displays excellent game use with some light stains at the lower bottom back. Game images show 1967 road examples from teammates Wilt Chamberlain and Billy Cunningham.

Letter of Provenance from Bill Melchionni.
