The team catalyst for the Go-Go Sox and throughout his career, second baseman Nellie Fox made his presence felt on so many levels. Small in stature at just 5-foot-9, 150 pounds, Fox was a steady—if not, spectacular—defensive player. And while he didn't appear menacing at the plate, Fox was trouble personified every time he strode to the dish. The toughest man to fan in 12 different seasons (including an incredible 11 years consecutively), the pesky Hall of Famer also paced the circuit in singles eight times.

Offered here is a bat ably employed by the scrappy infielder during his final season with the Houston Colt .45s. The Hillerich & Bradsby model C12 Nellie Fox professional model bat exhibits outstanding use with a handle crack. Many ball marks and ball stitch impressions are visible on the right, left, and back barrel. Also visibly on the bat are green bat rack streaks. The model number (C12) is stamped into the knob and "FOX" written on the knob in black marker.

Bat is 34 inches long and weighs 33.7 ounces. Acccompanied by a letter from John Taube of PSA/DNA GU 8, as well as a letter from a Yankee Stadium security guard's (who obtained the bat) grandson.
