Presented is an impressively high-quality specimen of the scarce 1964 Topps Rookie Banquet card, which features Pete Rose among other members of the 1963 Topps Rookie All-Star team. This card was exclusively given to attendees of Topps' 1964 annual dinner, a prestigious event that celebrated Major League's rookie all-star team awardees. The 1964 Topps Rookie All-Star Banquet set was a departure from the conventional dinner program, as Topps chose to create this unique card set as a memento for the guests. Each card of the 36-card set takes the form of a 'program page', identified by a number located at the bottom right. All these cards, printed in black and white on high-quality card stock, are artistically accentuated with either red or light blue graphics. The only exceptions are the 'front cover' and 'back cover' cards, which are presented in vibrant multicolor. The card in question, regarded as the cornerstone of the set, is in an exceptionally pristine state. It exhibits a nearly perfect alignment, sharp corners, and a pure, unblemished reverse side. As one of the rarest and most distinctive Pete Rose cards, this Topps Rookie Award All-Star Banquet card is not only the set's key card, but also carries considerable significance. It has been evaluated and graded NM-MT 8 by PSA, a testament to its remarkable quality.
