Presented here is a superlative example of the Topps #200 Mickey Mantle from the beautiful dual-image 1963 set. This is an extremely rare SGC MINT 9, so we are in some rarified (cardboard) air here! Note that there are only (2) SGC 9's in the entire SGC population report, this being one of them, and zero graded higher than a 9!
A special aspect of this particular card is that the iconic façade of Yankee Stadium is shown looming behind Mickey, not a basic “spring training” or less distinguished background that appears on many cards. This significant Mantle card is a highlight from the ’63 season that “The Mick” smacked his 400th career home run and saw his New York Yankees win yet another American League pennant.
Take note that a PSA 9 of this 1963 Mantle card recently sold in a competitor’s auction for $69,000. We are confident our SGC 9 presents even better. We cannot overstate this SGC 9’s bold coloring, perfect centering, sharp corners and overall eye appeal. Magnificent Mantle!
