Incredible 1963 John Roseboro Los Angeles Dodgers home uniform game worn by the longtime Dodger catcher during their 1963 World Series Championship season! Roseboro had another solid year for the Dodgers behind the plate in 1963 with 9 home runs and 49 RBI in 135 games. In the World Series, his 3-run HR in the 2nd inning of Game 1 was enough to power the Dodgers to a 5-2 victory over their American League rivals, the New York Yankees. The Dodger would go on to sweep the Yankees in four straight to take the series. A 6-time All-Star, 2-time Gold Glover and 3-time World Champion with the Dodgers, Roseboro played 14 seasons and is perhaps best remembered for taking two bat blows to the head from Giants pitcher Juan Marichal in 1965, adding more fuel to the fire of the Dodger-Giants bitter rivalry.

The jersey is a true flannel specimen with a blue felt "Dodgers" sewn across the chest and red felt "8" sewn just below. A large blue felt "8" is sewn on the back. The Spalding tag is sewn in front tail with "Roseboro 63 Set 1 44 8" stitched in blue thread below. Washing instructions and "SET 1 1963" tags are sewn inside front tail. Jersey displays moderate game use and presents beautifully. Matching white pants have Spalding, "SET 1 1963", and washing instruction tags sewn inside front right waistband. Pants also display moderate game use and remain in excellent shape. This uniform was no doubt stored in a good place as there are no signs of moth damage to the fabric. Since players in that era would typically get two home and two road uniforms for the season, it is possible that Roseboro wore this jersey and/or pants in the 1963 Fall Classic. Photos certainly match the style. What an important game worn jersey from a player who was the Dodgers regular catcher for ten straight seasons, from 1958 through 1967.

Includes Letter of Authenticity from Solly Drake, who was Roseboro's teammate in 1959 with the Dodgers and good friend thereafter. Drake only played 2 years in the majors but is known among card collectors for his pair of Topps cards - 1957 with the Cubs and 1959 with the Dodgers. He procured the jersey directly from Roseboro.
