From one of the top sluggers of the era comes this important vest-style Pirates jersey worn by Donn Clendenon in 1963 when he hist .275 with 15 home runs and 57 RBI. The grey flannel vest has black and gold piping and seven-button front, with six original and one gray replacement. A green Mac Gregor Size 44 tag appears at the back of the collar and a white Mac Gregor Set 2 1963 tag appears on the inner button path tail; a red-embroidered "Clendenon 17 44" for player name, number and size appears on the facing button path inside. Both sets of numerals have small tears along the yellow back portions of the felt but they don't substantially detract from the overall presentation and are not noticeable at normal viewing distances. There are similar examples of separation in the fabric or stitching on several of the letters in Pirates on the front. There is also some fraying of the black and gold piping at the sleeveless shoulders and collar.
