In 1962 the Houston Colt .45's joined the New York Mets as one of two new National League expansion franchises. Named after "The Gun that Won the West", the club's unique "Smoking Colt .45" logo displayed on the front of their jerseys was easily the most unique team emblem baseball had seen in quite some time. The fact that it was only incorporated for three years (they changed their name to the Astros in 1965) has resulted in it becoming one of the rarest and most highly sought after game jerseys in collecting today. Offered is a phenomenal original example of that classic garment worn by outfielder Johnny Weekly during the 1963 season.

This beautiful Houston Colt .45s professional model cream-colored home flannel jersey features embroidered Colt .45s lettering and logo on front with player #26 on back. The MacGregor tag in collar notes size "46". A flag tag inside the front tail notes "Set 1 1963". The well preserved shirt exhibits light to moderate usage wear with bluish stains inside the armpits not significantly affecting its superb display quality. This is a simply superb example of a highly coveted and scarce three-year style jersey that is tough to find in this completely original and unaltered state.
