Freshly graded by PSA, this Hank Aaron boldly signed #320 base card from the 1962 Topps set received a perfect 10 autograph grade along with a very respectable VG-EX 4 designation for the card itself. With the wood-finished borders reminiscent of a 1980s Jeep Wagoneer, '62 Topps has done collectors no favors when it comes to edge and corner preservation from chipping.
Overall, this one has persevered much better than most mid-grades, and it probably deserves a full point higher on the scale. Nevertheless, it still ranks among the highest dual-graded versions yet, with a pop of three and only five superior in the PSA registry, the highest being EX-MT 6. (Of course, we don't know how many of those got 10 auto grades.) Most importantly, Hammerin' Hank's thick blue felt pen autograph is perfectly stroked.
Our consignor, who built an amazing collection of vintage autographed cardboard over several decades, got this card signed by Aaron in-person at a collectibles show many years ago.
