The late Joe Koppe was a former infielder who played eight seasons in the big leagues including five campaigns with the Los Angeles/California Angels. His best year came in 1962 when he collected 85 hits for the Halos including 16 doubles and knocked in 40 runs. He also drew 73 walks. This lot features Koppe’s Los Angeles Angles game worn jersey from that particular season. The Rawlings (size 42) white button-down jersey reads “ANGELS” across the front in red felt lettering outlined in blue.

The jersey shows its age and its game usage is obvious with dirt stains still present on the front. And even though the chain-stitched tagging on outer front shirttail has worn off, you can still make out the "Koppe" and "62 42" imprints below the Rawlings label. His uniform number “1” is located on the reverse, also in red felt outlined in navy blue. Under both short sleeves are four air holes apiece in the armpit areas and all seven original buttons down the front remain intact.
