When he was signed out of the Dominican Air Force at age 19, high-kicking Juan Marichal already had pinpoint control of his curve, slider, screwball, and blinding fastball, all thrown with a variety of motions. The ace of the San Francisco Giant pitching staff throughout the 1960's, Marichal won 21 or more games 6 times between 1963 and 1969. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1983. Presented here is one of only five perfect GEM MINT PSA 10 Marichal rookies extant.
