Just when one Boston legend was retiring, another stepped up to take his place. Carl Yastrzemski’s 1960 Topps rookie card ushered in a two-decade career that would take Red Sox fans from the Ted Williams era on into the space age. This example of Yaz’s rookie card has strong color throughout. There is what appears to be a slight printing flaw along the top portion of the front, but the card displays wonderfully. The Red Sox legend has signed the card in blue ballpoint pen, taking this card to the next level. Yaz inscribed “HOF 1989” under his signature and photo. The card was given an EX 5 grade by PSA, while the penmanship from Yaz was designated a Mint 9 by PSA/DNA.
