The 1960-61 NBA season saw a major adjustment with the Minneapolis Lakers moving the franchise to Los Angeles. The Lakers were lead by Elgin Baylor and rookie Jerry West and barely snuck into the playoffs with a losing record of 36-43. They overachieved by beating the Detroit Pistons in the first round of the playoffs but were humbled when they lost in seven games in the Western Conference finals against the St. Louis Hawks.
Featured here is an original photograph of the '60-61 Los Angeles Lakers and a rare glimpse of the genesis of Jerry West in a Lakers uniform. The photograph presents in NM-MT condition and the overall clarity is pristine. A few small creases are found on the corners but the overall image is unscathed. With a blank reverse, there really isn't anything that takes away from the iconic team image from the logo's rookie team photograph. Encapsulated and graded by PSA/DNA TYPE I.
