This jersey was worn by the great Ken Boyer during the 1958 season, one in which he batted .307 and knocked in 90 runs, nailing down his first of five Gold Gloves and establishing himself as the team captain and cleanup hitter. He would finish his career with a .287 average, 282 home runs and 1,141 RBI, numbers that combined with his fielding skills probably should have earned him a spot in Cooperstown. On the left front tail of the jersey is the "Rawlings Hall of Fame' Flannel" label and adjacent is the size tag, "46." On the inside left front tail is the wash tag and adjacent is the flag tag reading "Set 1 1958." Across the front of the jersey is the name "Cardinals" in red on blue embroidered stitch. Going through the letter "C" is a gold embroidered bat with a red embroidered Cardinal perched on each end. On the back of the shirt is Boyer's No. 14 in red on blue felt. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
