Spectacular Eddie Mathews signed and inscribed fielder's glove, game used during 1957 season including the World Series. Mathews played with the Braves beginning in 1952 in Boston and through their subsequent moves to Milwaukee and ultimately Atlanta. He is the only player to ever play for all three franchise locations. Over the course of his 17-year Hall of Fame career, he belted 512 home runs, a tremendous feat in the pre-steroid era, finishing number 7 all-time at the time of his retirement. 1957 saw Williams have another stellar year at the plate, hitting .292 with 32 HR and 94 RBI in 148 games. Mathews, along with teammate Hank Aaron, was instrument in the Braves' 1957 World Series triumph, driving in 4 runs including the game winning home run in the bottom of the 9th of Game 4. This thick leather Rawlings Bob Dillinger signature model glove is stamped with "CUSTOM Bilt" and DEEP WELL POCKET". "SNUGGER ADJUSTMENT" wrist backing features a Rawlings manufacturer's tag with a button and pair of leather cords for adjustment. Perfect 9/10 looking black felt tip pen "Eddie Mathews 11/28/94" (date he signed it) placed on the outer thumb with the added notation "1957 W.S. Glove" on the back of the little finger. An old faded black marker "G. Norvik" is found on the wrist backing with "NORVIK" on the inside palm. Greg Norvik was the 8-year-old youngster given the glove by Mathews in the Braves clubhouse at County Stadium before a game in 1958. Glove displays heavy game use with a very well broken in webbing and light scuffing on the exterior. Pocket has darkened due to applications of oil over time. Photo matched to Getty image 52698678. Awesome game used glove from one of the greatest 3rd baseman to ever play the game, with documentation as tight-knit as you will ever find.

Includes a 3/8/1989 signed letter from Mathews stating that this is the glove he gave Greg Norvick in 1958. 11/28/94 Letter of Authenticity signed by Eddie Mathews stating that this was the glove he used during the 1957 season through the World Series. LOA from the person who originally obtained the glove from Mathews back in 1958.
