Directly from the family estate collection of Barney Stein comes this 7" by 9" original photograph capturing an intense moment between New York Yankees Manager Casey Stengel and Dodgers' Owner/President Walter O'Malley in 1957. A smug O'Malley grins as he shakes Stengel's right hand, while a stern-looking Stengel pushes his left pointer finger into O'Malley's chest. Taken at Ebbets Field under the grandstands, Barney Stein titled this dramatic shot, "The Hand Shake", and there is a paper caption taped on the back of the frame describing the scene.
This crystal-clear black and white original photo was printed off its original negative from the famous Dodgers photographer's camera many years later. The fiber-based gelatin silver print has been professionally matted and framed. This exact framed photo was on display as part of the Barney Stein Photo Collection in 2001 at the Frick Museum in Pittsburgh, PA. (See uploaded picture of Barney's daughter alongside it.)
