A member of the legendary 1961 New York Yankees and part of the Boyer family entourage that boasted two of the top third basemen in the major leagues for nearly a generation, Clete Boyer was a brilliant fielder and solid hitter with decent power in a 16-year career, most notably with the Yankees during the clubs final years of its long-running dynasty. This is a highly desirable second-season Kansas City home flannel worn by Boyer, a style that was only worn for six seasons. The beautiful cream color is complemented by the red and blue "Athletics" on the front and Boyer's No. 12 on the back, along with the exquisitely embroidered "elephant" patch on the left sleeve. The entire shirt is trimmed with a black braid. On the front tail has the Wilson size (42) tag, along with the year "1956" on a strip tag. The shirt shows game wear and some small staining elements most notably on the collar, but is in all original condition.
