Having finally succumbed to the Brooklyn Dodgers after five October quellings of those cross-borough rivals the 1955 New York Yankees headed for an even bigger stage in the Far East. Savoring Yankee greats Babe Ruth (1934) and Joe DiMaggio (1951) in previous tours, Japanese baseball fans embraced the 1955 installment with unprecedented fervor, turning out en masse (record attendance of 64,000-plus) for the Yankees vs. "All-Japan Stars" tour-opening contest in Osaka. All told, the Bronx Bombers enjoyed a six-week sojourn (October 8 through November 21) during which they went 24-0-1. Offered here is a trio of keepsakes from various stages of that memorable tour. Includes; 1. A specially printed Pan-Am Airways menu for the Yankees San Francisco-Honolulu leg of their journey signed by players, their spouses, and team personnel. An incredibly thorough assemblage of autographs includes all key team members such as Mantle, Stengel, Berra, Ford, Martin, Howard, Bauer, Dickey, team and league executives (incl. Frick) and even the Pilot and flight crew. NM condition. 2. A 4" by 6" original photo of the Yankees and Japanese host team on the field in a Japanese stadium. NM condition. 3. Japanese issued program for the Yankees' 1955 tour featuring a cover image of Mickey Mantle. Yankees players are featured inside with full stats, all in Japanese. VG-EX.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
