Baseball icon and WWII hero Ted Williams was so beloved in America that just one card of the Splendid Splinter in Topps' 1954 issue simply wasn't enough. The set starts and ends with the sweet swingin' lefty. This lot features a super rare signed version of his #250 card in exceptional shape for one blessed with his John Hancock. Very-well centered with bright yellow background colors and clean borders, the rounded corners and a handwritten "1954" on the reverse are all the prevents it from elevating beyond mid-grade status. PSA has given it an EX 5 (MK) rating for card condition. His autograph in bold blue ballpoint is PSA/DNA authentic and would likely get a Mint 9 designation if graded. The aesthetics of this dual-authenticated are off the charts. In terms of population, there is no signed #250 Ted graded higher. PSA has only slabbed five copies and the other four are ungraded (authentic only).
