The 1954-55 Minneapolis Lakers’ team had an impressive roster and played well throughout the entire regular season, ending with a 46-26 record; enough to land them the 1st place spot in the Western Conference going into the playoffs. The 1954 squad featured some of the biggest stars during the earlier years of the game including George Mikan, Slater Martin, and Vern Mikkelsen, coached by Mike Kundla, who are all inducted into the Naismith Hall of Fame. The Lakers finished the final round of the playoffs in a back-and-forth seven-game series against the Syracuse Nationals coming out on top in an 87-80 win to complete the 3-peat of championships from 1952-54. This was also their sixth title in the past seven years.

Offered here we have a team signed basketball from the 1954-55 campaign. The full team signed ball is a rare find in today’s time, especially for a team with such notable players and that also won the NBA title in the same year. The notable signatures are all legible, with the more notable signatures in higher grades. Hall of Famers signatures include Mikkelsen, Kundla, Mikan, and Slater. Other noteworthy signatures include Holstein, Skogg, Saul, MacMillian, and Carney. The ball shows normal wear, being from the 1950s, but still has its natural spherical shape necessary for proper display of this fantastic piece. Accompanied by an LOA from JSA, Certification #: Z69999.
