The 1953 New York Yankees, managed by Casey Stengel, won 99 games during the regular season and claimed their fifth consecutive World Series title. To this day, no other MLB franchise has come close to such dominance (only the '39 Yanks who won four straight). This '53 team ball features the signatures of 24 members from that historic team, including Hall of Famers Mickey Mantle (6/10), Whitey Ford, Yogi Berra Johnny Mize and a lovely Phil Rizzuto (7/10) on the sweet spot.
Other notables include Billy Martin, Ed Lopat Vic Raschi, Allie Reynolds (SS), Joe Collins, Johnny Sain, Gil McDougald, Hank Bauer, Bob Cerv, Charlie Silvera, Gene Woodling and Ralph Houk along with Irv Noren, Gorman, Blackwell, Brideweser, McDonald, Scarborough and Bill Miller. The blue ink signatures range 5-7/10 in strength and the OAL (Harridge) baseball has aged well to a light but evenly toned EX-MT condition.
