Taken by renowned Brooklyn Dodgers photographer Barney Stein, this PSA/DNA Type 1 photograph shows first baseman Gil Hodges (#14) getting congratulated after hitting a home run in 1953. Greeted at home plate by Jackie Robinson, Pee Wee Reese, Russ Meyer and bat boy Charlie "The Brow" DiGiovanna, it must have been an important homer in the game based on the joy of the greeting. Only recently inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, Gill Hodges had an incredible career and many wonder why it took so long. An eight-time All Star and three-time World Series Champion, Hodges should have been enshrined 20 years ago.

The photo has been cut down to size a bit on the edges. It presents in mint condition with no issues whatsoever. Any Dodgers original photos of Jackie from Stein's camera are significant, and this one is a rare glimpse of the back of Jackie's jersey showing the iconic #42. The reverse has stamps from Barney Stein and the New York Post plus some editorial notes in red colored pencil. A fantasic Stein example from the glory years of the Brooklyn Dodgers.
