Nice pairing of two popular 1950s Bowman partial sets offered in this lot including 128 cards from 1953 Bowman Color and nine examples from the '53 Bowman Black and White set. These Bowman sets portray the classic baseball card look that is synonymous with the Golden Era of baseball and collecting. The Bowman Color cards have player images surrounded by a white border with no athlete names on the front for a clean look. Notables include Stan Musial, Monte Irvin, Ted Kluszewski, Larry Doby, Lou Boudreau, Leo Durocher, Duke Snider, Early Wynn, Warren Spahn, and Billy Martin to name a few.
The nine cards included from the Bowman B&W set are Stu Miller, Walker Cooper, Keith Thomas, Joe Tipton, Wilmer Mizell, Bill Miller, Dick Gernert, Paul La Palme and Dave Cole. Overall, the 137 cards in this lot fall in the low to mid-grade range with a few exceptions. There are some grading opportinies, but being able to touch and feel the vintage cardboard is a nice luxury nowadays. A fun grouping of iconic Bowman cards from one of their most popular runs in the 1950s.
