Offered here is the elusive Eddie Mathews rookie card from the iconic 1952 Topps set. High-numbered cards are in much shorter supply and, as the last numbered card in the set, the #407 Mathews is seldom seen at all, let alone in a decent grade. It presents one of the greatest challenges for anyone putting together a quality 1952 Topps set. This PSA VG 3 (MK) example is crease-free with slightly rounded corners and vibrant color. It has good eye appeal despite the fact that it is quite off-center (side-to-side moreso than top-to-bottom). Centering issues are common among the high-numbered '52 Topps cards, especially with Mathews. The MK qualifier stems from the three stars on the back filled in with blue ballpoint. Other than that, the card is quite clean.
