Graded PSA NM-MT 8. A super clean copy of Joe Nuxhall from card #406 from the famous 1952 Topps issue. This high number example checks all the boxes: color, registration, surface, edges, corners and decent centering. There are only 8 copies graded higher according to the PSA consensus as of this writing. Nice addition to any serious vintage collection.
Nuxhall has the unique distinction of being the youngest player to have appeared in a Major League game, pitching 2⁄3 of an inning for the Reds on June 10, 1944, at the age of 15 years, 316 days. Called upon for that single game due to player shortages during World War II, Nuxhall eventually found his way back to the Reds in 1952, the year of this Topps issue!
