Awesome 1951 original United Press Associations wire photo of a young Mickey Mantle taken during his first call-up by the Yankees and wearing his first uniform #6, signed across the front by Mantle in perfect 10/10 looking dark blue felt tip pen. Mantle has added the inscription "1951". Photo measures 7" by 9" and features a crystal clear full body batting pose with the number "6" on his back clearly visible. Back has the "UPA" stamping with "96 82 82 MICKEY MANTLE N Y YANKEE 4/23/51" written in pencil to the side. Photo itself does have some creases, mainly confined to the sides. Small pin hole at top white center border with a more severe crease. Incredible piece of Mickey Mantle history signed by the Yankee Hall of Fame slugger himself!
