Sherman “Sherm” Lollar was a Major League catcher for 18 seasons who played the majority of his career in the Windy City for the White Sox (1952 to ’63). A career .264 batter, Lollar did manage to wallop 155 home runs on his way to collecting 1,415 hits. This lot features a game used bat Lollar swung during the 1950’s.

The 35-inch Sherman Lollar Louisville Slugger H&B professional model ash bat weighs 32.7 ounces and definitely shows its age. It possesses multiple ball marks and ball stitch impressions throughout the barrel to demonstrate outstanding use. Its model number “R43” is engraved in the knob of the bat. The vintage bat is being offered from the estate collection of Jim Landis, Lollar’s former White Sox teammate. It’s a solid gamer used by a scrappy backstop whose life was cut far too short by cancer in 1977 at the age of 53.

Includes LOA from the widow of Jim Landis.
