1948 will be remembered by Yankees fans as the year the great Babe Ruth passed away. The team had a solid 94-win season under skipper Bucky Harris and finished just two back out in the AL pennant race. The years to follow would prove historic for the franchise as they went on to win five championships in succession, a streak that likely will never be matched. This clubhouse-free '48 team ball holds 17 lovely blue ink (7/10 average) autographs on an OAL (Harridge) sphere with even, moderate yellow toning. Featuring a nice Joe DiMaggio on the sweet spot (6.5/10 in our opinion), the ball has Hall of Famer Yogi Berra's pen twice, manager Harris, Joe Page, Charlie Keller, Allie Reynolds, Frank Crosetti, Johnny Lindell, Spec Shea, Hank Bauer, Billy Johnson, Lollar, Mapes, Hiller and Souchock. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (AG07309).
