On May 23, 1947, the Brooklyn Dodgers beat the Philadelphia Phillies at Ebbets Field 5-4. Rex Barney (1-0) was the winning pitcher, while Cubs pitcher, Dutch Leonard (6-2) took the Loss. Hugh Casey had the save for the Dodgers.
The Dodgers featured several future Hall of Famers in the game, including Pee Wee Reese, Arky Vaughan, Duke Snider, and rookie Jackie Robinson who went 1-4 and was picked off first base by Dutch Leonard. Jackie had a stellar fielding day, partaking in 2 double plays with field mates, Pee Wee Reese and Stan Rojek. This was his 29th career Major League game!
Any rookie year Jackie Robinson tickets are in super high demand
