1943 Pacific Coast League Most Valuable Player Trophy presented to slick fielding shortstop Bill Schuster, leader of the first place finishing Los Angeles Angels. One of the finest fielding shortstops in PCL History, Schuster played 10 years in the league, 7 of those, 5 full and 2 partial, with the Los Angeles Angels. In 1943 he has also had a solid season with the bat hitting .275 in 157 games. He is a member of the PCL Hall of Fame. Engraved on the front of the 14 1/4" tall trophy is "WILLIAM SCHUSTER MOST VALUABLE PLAYER LOS ANGELES CLUB 1943". Plastic inside metal base has been broken but does not show on the outside. One of the "wings" on top is loose. Great piece of PCL history!
Includes a Letter of Provenance from the Helms Athletic Foundation/LA84 Collection.
