The 1943 New York Yankees went 98-56 to claim their 14th pennant and avenged their loss to St. Louis in the previous Fall Classic by beating the Cards in five games to become World Champions. Without star centerfielder Joe DiMaggio while he served in WWII, the Yanks had six All-Stars including future Hall of Famers Joe Gordon and Bill Dickey, both of whom signed this ball. Of the 25 total autographs, however, none is more important than the Sultan of Swat over the sweet spot. By then, Babe was an ambassador of baseball and still relishing the spotlight as an American cultural icon.

Other notable pens include Spud Chandler, Charlie Keller, Johnny Murphy, Tiny Bonham, Breuer, Donald, Lindell, Turner, Byrne, Borowy, Etten, Fletcher, Grimes, Hemsley, B. Johnson, Methany, Russo, Stainback, Wensloff, Weatherly, etc. The OAL (Harridge) ball remains in EX-MT shape. Ruth rates 6/10 and is in tune with the rest of the black ink signatures on average. Manager Joe McCarthy and Frank Crosetti are both deemed clubhouse. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA (AG03985).
