This lot offers a 1944 Bill Pierce Esquire All-American presentational charm along with awards from his high school baseball career. The awards from high school include a baseball-shaped charm, a ring, and two medallions. The Esquire All-American charm is engraved “William Pierce” on top of the “Esquire” logo and “1944 All-American Polo Ground NY”. Pierce’s high school ring is engraved “Bill Pierce” on the inner band and “Owls 1943 DBF Champs” on the face of the ring. The additional charm is engraved “Champions, Jinx 41, Bill Pierce”. One medallion is for the Player of the Year Award and reads “Player of Year Owls 1943” on the face and “Bill Pierce Class D D.B.F.” on the backside. The last medallion is engraved with “44” on the front, denoting the year, and “Bill Pierce Most Valuable Player D.A.B.F.” on the rear side of the medal. The charms, medallions, and ring show normal wear for being made in the 1940s. This lot is accompanied by a letter of provenance from the Pierce family.
