Offered is an original photo by Acme Newspictures of the legendary Ted Williams. The young superstar is shown here in 1941, his third season in the league. That also happened to be the first year he accomplished the incredible feat of batting over .400 on the season. The caption on the back of the image states, in part: "In the midst of all the excitement about Joe DiMaggio's hitting streak, a lanky young man built like an exclamation point is doing some fair slugging and quite unnoticed. He is Ted Williams, outfielder of the Boston Red Sox. Every day it looks more and more like he's going to be the first .400 hitter since Bill Terry did .401 in 1930, with the aid of the sacrifice fly rule." The 8” x 6” photo is in beautiful condition with no creasing, no stains, and no creasing to report and encapsulated and designated Type 1 by PSA/DNA.
