Featured here is a unique 1939 New York World's Fair Laurel Card issued by the Academy of Sport and signed beautifully in bold black ink by Babe Ruth. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, his autograph has been graded MINT 9. If not for a lightly stroked 'a' it may have received exclusive Gem-Mint 10 status.

These cards were issued to students who attended the daily sports clinics sponsored by the Academy of Sport at the 1939 World's Fair. The clinics featured many famous sports stars from the era who volunteered to instruct youngsters on the fundamentals of their respective sport, and who would routinely sign these souvenir cards for attendees. This particular card (4.25" by 2.75"), which was assigned to "Guy Anselmo of Brooklyn, N.Y." and presents in NM shape. It was originally consigned from the recipient's family to a previous auction, making this its second time listed publicly. A stunning Ruth signature that would instantly become the highlight of any serious collection.
