Impressive Philadelphia Inquirer leather bound invitation book to the June 22, 1938 Joe Louis Max Schmeling World's Heavyweight Boxing Match at Yankee Stadium. The back page meant for autographs has been signed by Schmeling in beautiful 8-10 vintage blue ink. Also included is a 3" ticket stub to the fight in excellent condition which features a picture image of Champion Joe Louis, the original invitation to the fight from the Philadelphia Inquirer, and a Guest Card giving the itinerary from the Broad Street Station in Philadelphia through all the events scheduled in New York. Book is in fantastic, like new condition including the 2" busts of both fighters attached to the front cover. The original box the invitation came is is present and in about VG shape. Unfortunately the Joe Louis signature on the autograph page at back has been ruled by PSA/DNA to be secretarial. Still a great piece of Boxing history!
