Baseball bearing handwritten inscription commemorating the 6th game of the 1934 World Series, played at Briggs Stadium in Detroit. An unknown hand has written "OCT. 8 1934 DETROIT ST LOUIS 4 - 3 PAUL DEAN LYNN ROWE". The Cardinals won Game 6 4-3 behind Paul Dean who drove in the winning run himself with a single in the 7th inning. The Cardinal would take Game 7 the next day to win the World Championship. Ball displays heavy use. Looks like someone had tried to stamp "OCT 8" on the opposite side.
Includes a Letter of Provenance from the Helms Athletic Foundation/LA84 Collection.
