This framed display features a large signature sheet signed by every member of the 1934 American tour team. Such sheets typically resided in elaborate souvenir albums, a small number of which were presented to team members and accompanying officials on the celebrated tour. These 7 1/4” by 11 1/4” sheets were the highlights of the impressive volumes, occupying the final page. Twenty black fountain pen signatures are present (one in green ink) including Hall of Famers Babe Ruth (10/10), Connie Mack, Lefty Gomez, Earl Averill, Charlie Gehringer, Lou Gehrig (10/10) and Jimmie Foxx. Also present on the sheet is the signature of Moe Berg, who was on the trip in his capacity as a spy for the U.S. Government. The sheet is framed together with an original 13” by 10” photograph of the team posing together in street clothes. The lower left corner of the image bears a Japanese photographer “JOAK” embossed stamp. Both items appear in excellent to near mint condition with minor foxing on the autograph sheet.
