ADDENDUM: THE BASEBALL HAS BEEN SIGNED BY A COMBINATION OF BOTH NEW YORK YANKEES AND BOSTON BRAVES.
Goldsmith Semi Pro League baseball signed by members of the 1934 New York Yankees and 1934 Boston Braves. 1934 would be Babe Ruth's final year in Yankee pin stripes and the year Lou Gehrig would win Baseball's Triple Crown. Yankees on the ball are Johnny Allen, Jimmie DeShong, Lou Gehrig (HOF) Myril Hoag, Joe McCarthy (HOF), Red Rolfe, Babe Ruth (HOF)(SS), George Uhle, and Lyn Lary. Boston Braves are Ed Brandt, George Hockette, Joe Mowry, and Leo Magnum. The other 6 signatures are unidentifiable due to lightness of signatures. The Babe Ruth (4/10) and Lou Gehrig (5/10) are the two best looking signatures on the ball. The rest range in the 1-3/10 range, with a number very identifiable. Baseball itself has evenly soiled over the years. Consignor's grandfather obtained the signatures in person during Spring Training of 1934 when he wintered in Florida. Ball has been in the family's possession ever since.
