Lou Gehrig's most celebrated baseball card, this treasured Goudey collectible features striking and brightly colored artwork, showcasing an illustration that is among the most enduring and recognizable portrait images of "The Iron Horse." In the year this card was released, Gehrig won the American League Triple Crown, belted 49 homers, and drove in 165 runs with a .363 average. His efforts would very probably have led the Yankees to another pennant, but various injuries caused the Bronx Bombers to finish in second place. An outstanding commemoration of the Hall of Famer's historic 1934 performance, this PSA NM-MT 8 example has strong corners, vibrant color, and exceptionally strong focus and registration. Only three others have been graded higher by PSA.
