One of the cleaner images of Jimmy Foxx we've ever handled is offered here. The 6" x 8" Acme Newspictures image of the Philadelphia Athletics phenom was taken mid-season as Foxx was inching closer to Ruth's all time home run record of 60. Foxx had already knocked 40 homers when this image was taken of him with a bat in hand ready to take a practice swing on July 26, 1932. Foxx was named AL MVP during the '32 season but came up just short of Ruth's record and ended up tallying 58 bombs to his name that season. Front of the image has normal surface wear but nothing detracts from the crisp image of Jimmy Foxx in his clean Athletics uniform. Edges have some creasing and there are a few wrinkles on the upper and lower right corners. Overall a very clean image of Jimmy Foxx during one of the most historic batting campaigns in the history of the game. Reverse has Acme Newspictures stamps and the full caption still legible and intact. Graded and encapsulated by PSA/DNA TYPE I.
